Barcelona v. Club America 8-6-11

August 6, 2011 – FC Barcelona came to Dallas to play against Mexico’s Club America in the Herbalife World Football Challenge.  Barcelona was without their star, Lionel Messi, who was given an extended rest by his team after competing in the Copa America for Argentina, but the rest of the big names (Xavi, Iniesta, Villa, Thiago, Victor Valdes, Pique, Puyol, etc…) were all there.  Barcelona, who had lost 4-1 to Chivas Guadalajara a few days earlier started the game with most of their starters on the field.  After halftime there were lots of substitutions, with many of the younger Barcelona players getting a chance to show what they’ve got.  Barcelona won the game 2-0 on goals from David Villa in the 1st half and Seydou Keita in the 2nd half (set up by a nice play by Gerard Deulofeu).

Living in the United States you don’t get many chances to shoot the top soccer teams from overseas, and I consider myself very lucky to have gotten a chance to shoot Barcelona and Real Madrid within a three week span.

I hope you like the pictures.
